Skincare Tips for the Holiday Season

2014-12-15 23:04:49

Hi Friends,

Yes it’s that time of year again and for me New York is one of the best places in the world to celebrate the holidays. I love strolling down 5th Avenue and falling into the fantasies of the store windows. The tree in Lincoln Center is magical and you can find the best gifts at The Columbus Circle Holiday Market. This is also a time of year that I Indulge in a bit too much cheer. So I would like to share a few tips to keep your cheeks rosy and your skin glowing as you “Ho Ho Ho” your way through parties, celebrations and perfect walks in Central Park.

  • Fancy cappuccinos and lattes are the ideal companion as you stroll about the city but they are loaded with sugar and fat and can contribute to dryness and break outs in your skin. Try herbal teas. There are so many interesting flavors and they will help detoxify your body while keeping you warm

  • Consider adding a face oil to your regimen. Face oils help prevent your skin from loosing moisture, a must during these cold months. I love the glow a good face oil can deliver and Captain Blankenship’s Rose & Pomegranate Face Oil is at the top of my list. I use it every morning under my sunblock and in the evenings layered over a serum.

  • Make facial masks your new best friend. During the holiday season I use masks 2-3x’s a week. To much champagne shows up in my skin immediately, leaving it dull and dehydrated. A mask for dry and sensitive skin can work miracles and support you though all of your celebrating. Need a suggestion? Head to The Organic Pharmacy on Bleecker Street. Not only do they have a great Honey & Jasmine Mask but it is an ideal place to buy presents. I love their products and there are gift sets designed for every skin type and personality. During the holidays I stock up on their travel size products as a great last minute gift for guests who are staying with us or friends who stop by throughout the season.

  • If you were very good and a bit naughty, you may want to ask Santa for the most Indulgent skincare line I have come across this year, The Forever Flawless Anti-Aging Black Diamond Collection. All of The products are infused with diamond powder and what girl does not like diamonds? I am obsessed with the Age-defying Cream which has retinyl palmitate and the Diamond Infused Vitamin C Booster which packs in vitamins C and E, wheat germ and soybean oil, silica and aloe. I am convinced those diamonds are behind the shimmer my skin has been enjoying. Santa please bring me more.

I hope these tips add joy and beauty to your holiday season.

Wishing you a glowing New Year,

Vanessa
